- Develop, commercialize, and support innovative microbial solutions for the customers
- Assess and validate market needs through direct interactions with external and internal customers including Application Engineers, Product Management and Sales teams
- Provide technical support to transition new products from the technology development phase to customer applications
- Conduct / participate in laboratory and customer site evaluations of new and existing products.
- As part of a development team, contribute to idea generation, conduct experiments, and review results. Collaborate across global labs to deliver goals of the defined projects
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound scientific principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Provide technical product support, customer service and non-routine problem solving for above industrial applications
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Experience using new tools and techniques to characterize microbial community present in field samples for their eco-physiological properties as well as their propensity to cause MIC

vos atouts

- Masters degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biochemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in microbiological control within water treatment applications
- Expert level in MS Office-suite and general pc-software
- Fluency in English (verbal and written), knowledge of Dutch is surplus
- Proficiency in professional reporting/communication to customers
- Knowledge of physical chemistry, water chemistry, electrochemistry
- Expertise in analytical/microbiology testing
- Expertise in molecular methods in microbiology (FISH, microarrays, qPCR, PLFA analysis, NGS, and others)
- Expertise in validation of microbiological methods and biostatistics
- Keen to embrace and implement technology evolutions
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and handle diverse responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proven track record of setting and meeting aggressive goals
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to effectively communicate ideas in both a research and customer environment
- Willing to travel for short periods of time within the EMEA region
