The Janssen Neuroscience discovery group is focused on the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases, as Alzheimer¿s disease and Parkinson¿s disease, including both large and small molecules. In the department of Neuroscience TA we currently have an internship position for 2 (m/f):
Our team investigates the effect of experimental drugs to evaluate their suitability as a disease-modifying treatment that can slow or halt the progression of Alzheimer¿s disease or Parkinson¿s disease. The objective of this internship is to contribute to the characterization and validation of these potential therapies with in vitro and in vivo experimental set ups.
Your responsibilities and duties: - As an intern, you will be directly involved in one of the projects of the Neuroscience department. - You will receive your own subproject that you can focus on during your training. - You will work in a multidisciplinary team giving you the advantage on developing multiple technologies, including different platforms for immunoassays, western blotting, cellular assays, fractionation, immunoprecipitation, iPSCs etc. - You will have the opportunity to deep dive into the relevant literature
Qualifications - You need to be registered as a Master student - Intellectually curious and eager to achieve results - Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people - Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills - The ability to work independently, with the proper support of your supervisor - Fluent in English
