As an Automation Specialist you’re responsible for the implementation of automation tasks. From analysis, selection of hardware and design of software, to programming, configuration, execution, testing, problem solving and commissioning. A role where you will be busy with technical development at our site in Ghent Noord. With your thorough knowledge and detailed understanding of process control systems you will provide leadership in automation related projects. A role where you actively will connect with production, engineering, maintenance, safety, purchasing, IT and with external engineering firms. After all you assure the safety and reliability of installed process control systems.
Next to manufacturing related automation systems you’re also responsible for the installation, configuration, management and maintenance of networks and machines (hardware or virtual) utilizing links between DCS networks and the client corporate network. You will cooperate extensively with IT (eg. OPC / PI gateways) to make sure all works according to plan. An interesting technical role where no day will be the same and with room to specialize yourself further! Please note, after training, you will be part of the standby duty.
- You are a result oriented technical specialist with excellent communicative and practical skills. You are a team player with initiative, good analytical and trouble-shooting skills. You are a creative thinker and have a continuous improvement and learning mindset. - You are ‘All in for safety’, meaning you apply the highest safety standards. As an Automation Specialist, you have an eye for detail and strive to work according to the 'first time right' principle. You are able to carry out several projects simultaneously. - You have a Bachelor's degree in automation, electricity, electronics, electro mechanics or equivalent through experience. - Thorough knowledge of and experience with DCS systems and PLCs is a requirement - Affinity with the 'field side' of automation (instrumentation, cabling, ATEX regulation ...) is a plus, as well as having experience in the (petro) chemical sector / process industry.
