job description

As a CNC thermoform operator you will be responsible for the process of thermoforming parts.
Thermoforming is the technique of draping a heated thermoplastic sheet over a mould (example, photo 1) to form a specific shape.

You will receive your work order and will place the correct injection mould onto the machine. You will then place the flat thermoplastic sheets into the machine. Both of these steps are to be performed using a forklift.

You will then choose a program, based on your work order and the material to be used and set up the machine to achieve optimal results.

During the thermoforming process, the sheet will be heated, draped onto a mould, vacuumed towards the mould and cooled down. After this process, the flat sheet will have taken the shape of the mould (example, photo 2).

To achieve optimal results, during the set up of the machine, the temperature and other elements will have to be adapted.

You are then responsible for quality assurance based on measurements.

You will be producing short series.

As this is not a process taught in schools, we are looking for candidates with a CNC background that are looking for challenging operator position where technical insight is valued and the appropriate training will be provided.
