frequently asked questions about employability.
-
what is employability?
Employability is a specialised division of Randstad RiseSmart that guides jobseekers towards long-term employment and supports companies with inclusive recruitment. The division has worked on behalf of VDAB, Actiris and Forem since 2005 and provides more than 15,000 candidates with support every year.
-
how does employability build inclusion and diversity in the workplace?
Employability coaches build inclusion by offering jobseekers individual coaching, collective workshops and support with applications, and by introducing them to a network of business partners. At the same time, the division advises companies free of charge on job crafting and tailor-made solutions to ensure any vacancies align with the strengths of a diverse pool of candidates.
-
what is inclusive recruitment?
Inclusive recruitment is an approach in which a company actively gives opportunities to candidates who, due to their age, background, disability, long-term unemployment and more, are less likely to progress through the traditional labour market.
-
what is workplace learning?
Workplace learning is a form of practice-oriented entry in which a candidate develops the necessary skills while actually carrying out the work, such as through an internship or individual vocational training (IBO). It offers companies an accessible way to integrate new employees before permanent contracts are signed.
-
what are back-to-work vouchers?
Back-to-work vouchers are a tool for the reintegration and return to work of employees who have been on long-term sick leave. Randstad RiseSmart’s employability coaches are recognised as specialised reintegration coaches for this pathway.
-
who are employability’s partners?
The main partners of Randstad RiseSmart’s Employability division are the regional employment services VDAB, Actiris and Forem. The division has also built up a network of hundreds of business partners, from SMEs to multinationals, across all sectors.
