our national projects.

boost

The aim of this project is to encourage young talent from a disadvantaged social or migrant background towards higher education and assist them in this move.  Within the framework of this project, we give young people aged 17 to 18 years career advisory workshops.

collaboration with pcsws (public centres for social welfare)

Collaboration with PCSWs (public centres for social welfare) in the context of activation of jobseekers receiving subsistence benefits. Together with the coaching team of the PCSW, we determine the target group and draw up a tailor-made track. This may involve social activation, digital activation, activation of vulnerable young people, activation of clients under an Article 60 contract,... always with the aim of bringing them closer to the labour market.

Randstad Employability developed new workshops to sharpen the skills of OCMW beneficiaries before they return to the labor market.

  • ‘Key to temporary work’. This workshop provides more information about temporary work on the labor market and gives more insight into the key features of temporary work.
  • ‘My job in one click’. This workshop shows how one can access the labor market through new technologies. This module helps job seekers in their job search through social networks, but also shows them how they should not use these networks.
  • The nine workshops on ‘active job seeking’ cover various themes, such as: a personality and skills test, staying motivatid, the labor market, effective communication, job interviews, the CV and motivation letter, building resilience, and managing change and stress.

collaboration with service voucher companies

Domestic helpers are entitled to a set number of training hours each year. Recognized by Vorm DC (the training fund for the voucher-based domestic help sector), these training programs are vital for both the personal development of domestic helpers and the overall quality of service provided.

Randstad Employability is pleased to offer the following certified training courses:
1. Attitude training
2. Dealing with difficult situations
3. Effective communication
4. Self-confidence
5. Motivation training
6. Stress management
7. Dealing with change and grief processing
8. Working with people with disabilities (Employability in collaboration with external partner vzw Konekt)
9. Digital Strong (in 2 parts)

By participating in courses such as effective communication, assertiveness, assisting clients with disabilities, and coping with loss and grief, domestic helpers can continue to expand their skill sets. This enhances their overall professionalism and equips them to handle diverse client situations with confidence. Ultimately, this not only boosts job satisfaction and engagement for employees, but also drives higher customer satisfaction. Furthermore, these programs promote sustainable employability, helping build a more resilient workforce across the sector.

return to work fund

The Return to Work Fund, managed by the National Institute for Health Insurance (RIZIV), is an initiative of the federal government to support people who are unable to work in their reintegration into the labor market. From April 1, 2025, both employees and job seekers who have been unable to work for more than a year can apply for this fund.Upon termination of an employment contract due to medical incapacity, the employer is required to contribute €1,800 to the fund. This contribution is used to finance tailored, specialized services aimed at the socio-professional reintegration of those involved.

As a recognized service provider, Randstad Employability offers specialized guidance to long-term disability sufferers with the aim of supporting them in their return to work, through personalized coaching, identifying suitable job opportunities, and strengthening their self-confidence and personal skills.

job and language coaching

With over 20 years of experience in Belgium, we support companies in building an inclusive environment where every employee can remain sustainably employed. We do more than just help find international talent; through job and language coaching, we ensure that this talent continues to grow.

The onboarding of a (non-native) new employee requires a specific approach. Randstad Employability acts as a bridge between the employer's ambitions, the employee's needs, and the reality of the workplace. Language should never be a barrier to safety or quality. We offer targeted language support focused on the workplace, for the employee as well as their work environment and supervisors:

  • Preparatory coaching with (language) support: customized, e.g., regarding technical jargon, company culture, communication, etc.
  • On-the-job language coaching: direct language support at or near the workplace, individually and/or in groups.
  • Group sessions: collective (language) support for teams, specifically focused on company jargon and instructions.
  • Leadership: "Plain Language" for supervisors, to get the best out of a diverse team.

mediation voucher

With mediation vouchers, we guide job seekers in their search for sustainable employment. The guidance consists of coaching tailored to the client, in the search for sustainable employment. The client is further assisted at the nearest office and can participate in numerous competency-enhancing workshops and training courses. Throughout the entire process, the coach continues to monitor the client, even if he/she is already working. We stand for an individual approach, extensive experience, and thorough knowledge of the labor market.

intori lim (intensive orientation limburg)

ago

AgO is a project commissioned by the Flemish Government, Agency for Government Personnel.
Specialized job coaching: On behalf of the Flemish Government, Diversity Policy Department, we guide staff members who have been recognized as having a chronic illness or disability. These staff members are still employed. Our goal is to ensure that the employee can work as optimally as possible and can remain at work. To this end, we will identify the obstacles. We coach the employee and, if necessary, also support the manager and/or the team. Some processes are of shorter duration, for example, when learning a new task or in a new position/team/...
Other processes may serve to support the employee in the long term.

local partnerships

Randstad Employability is active in 4 local partnerships (Lift ZO Hageland, Kanz, Lift H5+, Horizon, ...) of Europe WSE, under the ESF program 2021-2027, call 'Local Partnerships for the Sustainable Participation in the Labour Market of People with Complex Multiple Problems' with call number 64. The call is situated within the ESF+ program under priority 2, 'social inclusion'. The partnerships focus on vulnerable, non-working people with multiple problems. This target group requires very intensive guidance and, if necessary, combined guidance to address the various problems.

Each partnership aims to help the target group to be heard and seen, from their own context, regarding their challenges to participate fully in society, including but not limited to, with a view to work. Based on their strengths, competencies, and talents, the target group will receive support from various partners to take steps themselves to realize such participation. The partnership works together towards a shared goal. Each partner works from its unique expertise, together within the platform that has been set up. A complementary and reinforcing approach forms the basis for the realization of the above objective.

Randstad Employability focuses on local contact and seeks collaborations with organizations that can additionally support job seekers, taking on the role of a bridge builder. The aim is to remove as many obstacles as possible.

We have local partnerships with:
Horizon (city of Antwerp)
Lift ZO Hageland (Tienen region and surrounding area)
Kanz (Geel region)
Lift H5+ (region of Flemish Brabant - Brussels outskirts)

individualized support services

Individualized Support Services is a Flemish government initiative that provides financial support to employers for hiring and employing people with disabilities. This measure offers two forms of support: a wage subsidy and a support premium. The wage subsidy compensates for any additional costs or lower productivity resulting from the disability. The support premium enables employers to provide professional on-the-job support, both for the employee with a disability and for colleagues and supervisors.
As a recognized service provider within this program, Randstad Employability offers specialized guidance to job seekers with disabilities and their work environment. Our added value lies in providing customized support to both the employee and the employer, with the aim of achieving sustainable and successful employment. We help create an inclusive workplace and optimize collaboration between everyone involved.

esf call 91 “working your way out"

In this project, Randstad Employability works with various partners on the reintegration of inmates. The WAAK training center offers individuals in detention, who are on the waiting list for prison work, an initial short-term basic training to map out their work skills and attitudes. In addition, the training center accommodates inmates who wish to follow a specific reintegration path, in consultation with the VDAB. These reintegration trajectories are followed up by Randstad Employability, where the coach can also accompany the individuals outside to support them in their job search and establish links to other support services following their detention period.

Intended project results:

  • Early and proactive activation of individuals in detention at the WAAK training center.
  • Strengthening the correctional facility's workshops and domestic services by professionalizing the guidance of inmates.
  • Bringing more complex work into the correctional facility (under WAAK's supervision) that challenges inmates more and aligns better with the outside labor market.
  • Offering specific short-term reintegration trajectories (in cooperation with VDAB) at the WAAK training center for inmates due for release in the relatively short term.
  • Providing a follow-up trajectory with intensive individual guidance (from Randstad Employability) in the job search, starting in the training center and potentially continuing outside the correctional facility.
  • Randstad Employability actively searches for employers willing to hire ex-offenders and guides these employers during the start-up of employment.

call 457 "outreach and activation"

Within this ESF call, we reach out to and guide people who are not yet actively participating in the labor market. We offer individual guidance that is highly tailored to the needs of the participant. We do this not alone, but in a strongly integrated partnership in which place-based activities play an important role in reducing the gap to the labor market.

Locations:
Antwerp: "Bridges to Work" in which we support a broad target group of both inactive women in vulnerable positions, people from working poor families, as well as both newcomers and residents, and strengthen them in their steps towards work.
Limburg: "Future to Work" in which we guide asylum seekers from the integration centers. Our work buddies are present in four different asylum centers with the aim of supporting asylum seekers in their various questions regarding work. Our presence on-site lowers the threshold, but we also approach potential candidates proactively. We work with them individually and in a customized way to increase their chances on the job market. And with success, because more than 60% have already found a job! Our efforts are therefore not only directed directly at the asylum seekers, but we also create and maintain stable and long-term collaborations with employers who, in turn, want to commit themselves to giving this target group opportunities.

call 478 "strengthening work-welfare mediation"

In this project, we offer an empowering group program for vulnerable job seekers living in poverty or those at increased risk of poverty. We offer group workshops where the individual and their specific needs are central. We provide an integrated approach: we bridge the gap between all other relevant welfare and labor market actors, use language-supportive methods, and work on solutions in various domains.
Location: Antwerp

call 500 "inclusive and sustainable!"

With this project, we aim to make companies and workplaces in Flanders aware of the many different possibilities of all talents in the labor market. We are starting learning networks in the various provinces, in which we address various "diversity themes" tailored to the participating organizations. We then provide concrete tools and establish contacts with potential partner organizations to support the diverse influx and retention of employees in the workplace. We support the various companies in implementing (new) actions in terms of an inclusive personnel policy.
Locations: Across Flanders: West Flanders, East Flanders, Antwerp, Flemish Brabant, and Limburg

city of turnhout: levers for sustainable employment of speakers of other languages

Due to the increasing shortage in the labor market, more and more companies are considering adjusting the Dutch language requirements for applicants, which opens new doors for job seekers who speak other languages. In this way, these companies expect a greater influx of motivated talent. However, there are a lot of things involved here: where do I find suitable multilingual profiles, do I need to adjust my selection procedure (e.g., testing, interviews, etc.), how do I prepare my workplace for this, what do I need to take into account, how can I offer everyone (both the multilingual starter and their work environment) the appropriate support, what is my organization's vision on language?
We therefore specifically target job seekers who speak other languages, with little or no knowledge of Dutch, and employers who are open to hiring speakers of other languages and being guided/supported in this. Within the target group of speakers of other languages, we also reach other opportunity groups: people over 55, young people who speak other languages, refugees, and both low and highly skilled individuals.

renaissance: support towards a new beginning

In partnership with SOS Burn-out, the Renaissance program offers a comprehensive 6 to 9-month support journey, designed to help individuals who have experienced burnout return to professional activity in a calm and progressive manner.

Consisting primarily of individual sessions or small groups, this program alternates between psychological support and employment coaching, providing a structured and caring environment. It is aimed at job seekers, social benefit recipients/unemployed individuals, as well as those receiving disability benefits from their health insurance (mutuelle) for more than a year.

Renaissance allows participants to take stock of their personal and professional situation, regain self-confidence, and clarify their aspirations in order to rebuild a realistic professional project in line with their abilities and desires. The program provides concrete tools to better understand and manage the impacts of burnout, remove barriers to re-entry, and effectively prepare to find and sustain employment.
