As a Sourcing Manager, you will report to the Sourcing director. You will work in a dynamic environment where you play a key role in optimizing our sourcing processes. Your main responsibilities are:
Policy (10% of time spent on KRA):
- Provide input into the sourcing operational year plan.
- Define and implement long-term sourcing approaches, guidelines, procedures, and standards for the selected categories.
- Define and implement a sourcing calendar and new sourcing approaches.
- Ensure execution of the sourcing strategy and procedures.
- Take countermeasures in case of non-compliance.
(raw) Material, market & supplier expertise (15% time spent on KRA):
- Analyze and monitor market situation and options with regard to suppliers, price, and cost developments.
- Attend relevant events/activities to ensure a correct understanding of and alignment with business needs, requirements, and specifications.
- Develop business acumen and market/product expertise with regard to the assigned raw material(s), as well as in-depth knowledge of supplier business processes.
- Signal and analyze relevant market developments.
- Identify threats and opportunities.
- Study relevant literature.
- Translate business/market knowledge into business opportunities.
- Attend relevant seminars/events
Supplier management & collaboration model (10% time spent on KRA):
- Implement the new supplier collaboration model for NB suppliers.
- Investigate, assess & select existing & new OB suppliers within the agreed requirements and internal guidelines.
- Develop & manage sustainable relationships/partnerships in line with the sourcing strategy to ensure continuity and to optimize the performance of suppliers.
- Perform the assessment and performance follow-up of suppliers.
- Propose and implement mitigation actions.
- Implement the supplier collaboration identification in close collaboration with category management.
- Promote actions for developing new sources (increasing purchasing leverage).
- Visit fairs in Europe (PLMA, SIAL, etc.).
- Evaluate suppliers from members of the EU buying alliances and other Opco's.
- Ensure quality guidelines (safe, tasty, healthy & sustainable) are implemented.
Local & International negotiation and contracting (45% of time spent on KRA):
- Determine a negotiation strategy for each category.
- Lead annual/continuous local and international tenders/negotiations with suppliers concerning delivery agreements for goods and/or services and close the deal.
- Acquire contracts at the most optimal conditions (continuity, price, quantity, quality, delivery time).
- Encounter issues in the market and negotiate with vendors on certain aspects of agreements all year round.
- Analyze & compare offers (price, content and quality, service level,...).
- Define 'sticks & carrots' and validate with Category Management.
- Organize tenders (internal or with the EU buying alliance)
Management information (10% of time spent on KRA):
- Collect, provide and analyze relevant data on a periodic and ad-hoc basis.
- Compile management reports to make results measurable and provide management with timely, accurate, and reliable information.
- Report on status/situation, both internally and externally.
- Collect and process data, prepare statements and reports.
- Report to management periodically and on demand.
- Foresee the necessary communication on reports.
Optimization (10% of time spent on KRA):
- Initiate and formulate new methods/procedures and contribute to organizational/departmental issues.
- Ensure efficient and effective sourcing processes.
- Formulate recommendations (including solutions) about what might happen to optimize and how this should be addressed.
