We are looking for a dedicated Lab Technician to join the dynamic night shift team at a leading life science company in Leuven. This company specializes in the production of custom oligonucleotides and advanced technologies for genomics applications. Your work will contribute to scientific research and crucial medical diagnostics, such as the fight against cancer and COVID.
As a Lab Technician, you will be part of the dynamic Main Production team. You'll be responsible for the fast and efficient production of DNA fragments, playing a crucial role in the entire production process. Your tasks will include:
- Synthesis: building DNA and RNA molecules step-by-step.
- Processing: once the molecules are built, you will detach them from their base and remove impurities and protective layers.
- Purification and Measurement: you will thoroughly clean the molecules and precisely measure the quantity you have produced.
- Quality Control and Finishing: you will take samples for quality checks, mix the necessary chemicals, and ensure the final product is ready for use.
- Equipment Maintenance: you will ensure the equipment functions perfectly by performing calibration, maintenance, and cleaning tasks as scheduled or requested.
This role requires excellent multitasking and time management skills. You will be able to manage your own schedule, set priorities, and ensure that daily production goals are met.
Although the work can be repetitive, you will rotate between different workstations, allowing you to develop a wide range of skills and gain a deep understanding of the entire process. You will work in a close-knit team where teamwork, punctuality, and accuracy are key.
