As an HSE Manager you ensure legal compliance on all HSE matters. You provide technical expertise and influence site management on HSE and/or Business Continuity matters and oversees HSE and/or Business Continuity services, programs, and/or program elements. You will also supervise a team on HSE professionals. You will report directly to the plant systems head.
Safety & Health - Risk analysis: from identification of hazards to formulate proposals for the global prevention plan and the annual action plan - Participate in the study of the factors that influence the occurrence of accidents or incidents - Participate in the analysis of the causes of occupational diseases and psycho-social risks at work - Advise on the organization of the workplace, the work station, environmental factors, work equipment and on other elements of the organization of work - Provide advice on workplace hygiene - Advise on the preparation of instructions concerning the use of work equipment, the use of collective and personal protective equipment, etc. - Provide the employer and the Committee with advice on any design, measure or remedy which the employer contemplates application - Participate in coordination on the well-being of employees in the performance of their work, with regard to external undertakings and self-employed persons and to cooperating, coordinating and safety and health information the companies and institutions that are present at the same workplace or with regard to temporary or mobile construction sites - Cooperate on the elaboration of the internal emergency procedures and the organization of first aid and the urgent care of employees
Environmental - Contribute to the development, implementation, application and evaluation of environmentally friendly production methods and products - Watch over the execution of the prescribed emission and immission measurements - Monitor the keeping of the waste materials register - Prevention and management of waste materials - The impact on people and the environment of the establishment and its products - Annual report for the management (works council / CPBW / trade union delegation) - Walkabout on the environmental coordinated site once every three months
Managerial - Develops systems and tools for site leaders to use to ensure compliance with all pertinent HSE regulations, all pertinent HSE Guidelines, and associated Guidance Notes - Ensures that HSE services are provided to the site in an effective and efficient manner - Develops effective and efficient HSE Management System and provides direction for the majority of the supporting programs and acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least three of the programs (e.g., Chemical Safety, Biosafety, Radiation Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, Occupational Health) - Develops and drives incident response procedures, and guides leaders in effective implementation - Develops and drives the risk management program
- You preferably have a college/university degree in engineering or a technical field. - Prevention advisor level 1 - Environmental: Legal : "Milieu coordinator niveau B" – or willing to obtain - At least 7 years of professional experience related to HSE/Business Continuity - A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role - Excellent command of Dutch – English (spoken and written) - Possesses expert knowledge in regulatory. Able to identify regulatory ambiguity, evaluate recommendations, and implement a course of action - Able to effectively manage the site’s incident response program in compliance with HSE Guideline 9 - Able to perform as a subject matter expert during an incident
