Your Mission
As a Proposal Engineer, you play a key role in transforming client requirements into robust, competitive, and compliant technical and commercial offers. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, sales, and strategy, ensuring our bids reflect both technical excellence and market insight.
Your Main Responsibilities
1. Specification Analysis
- Evaluate tender specifications and assess feasibility;
- Identify sensitive or high-risk requirements;
- Prepare synthesis and briefing documents that form the foundation of bid development;
- Contribute to defining the technical and commercial bid strategy alongside department heads and BU management.
2. Risk and Opportunity Assessment
- Prepare and maintain risk & opportunity analyses for each project;
- Define mitigation and avoidance strategies in cooperation with stakeholders.
3. Market and Solution Intelligence
- Conduct market research on defence programs, competitors, and available technologies;
- Identify potential suppliers and define supply boundaries;
- Benchmark available solutions to enhance our competitiveness.
4. Bid Development and Coordination
- Plan and structure bid timelines, ensuring deadlines are met;
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (commercial, finance, engineering, quality, project management);
- Prepare, track, and validate cost estimates with the costing department;
- Draft and consolidate technical and commercial proposals for internal validation and submission.
5. Negotiation Support & Client Interface
- Support technical and commercial negotiations with clients and partners;
- Maintain continuity of relationships with customers and key external stakeholders.
6. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Contribute to standardisation and proposal process optimisation;
- Identify and promote innovative technical solutions to improve competitiveness;
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering to define alternative solutions.
