As a Business Controller, you turn numbers into a concrete steering tool for executive management and team leads within a complex and highly regulated food production environment.
You work closely with the day-to-day realities of production, procurement, and operations, translating financial and operational analyses into actionable decisions around cost prices, yields, efficiency, and margins. In the initial phase, you will build a clear, usable controlling and reporting structure; thereafter, your role will evolve alongside the organization, in close collaboration with the executive team.
Your Responsibilities:
Costing & Profitability
- Developing and refining cost calculation models (raw materials, yields, waste, labor, energy, overhead).
- Analyzing yields per product, batch, and line.
- Generating insights into margins per customer, contract, and channel.
- Identifying structural profit and loss drivers and challenging pricing and product decisions.
Production & Operational Controlling
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding output, efficiency, capacity utilization, and staffing.
- Working in close collaboration with production, QA, and procurement.
- Supporting capital expenditure (CAPEX) investments through solid business cases.
- Analyzing the financial impact of quality issues, audits, and rejections.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Coordinating the budgeting process and monitoring rolling forecasts.
- Conducting scenario analyses on volumes, raw material prices, energy, and labor costs.
- Analyzing monthly results and translating them into clear, actionable management reports.
Processes & Systems
- Improving data flows between finance, production, logistics, and procurement.
- Taking an active role in optimizing ERP systems, reporting tools, and data quality.
Your Place in the Organization:
- You report to the CCO / Executive Team.
- You work very closely on a functional level with operations and procurement.
- You are part of the Finance team.
