The focus of your work will be to develop and run assays to unravel the mechanism of action of compounds, and to profile and further characterize the best lead compounds in specific projects. Depending on the needs and the stages of the projects in the portfolio, you will be working on multiple aspects of the projects. You will also be involved in the validation and implementation of molecular and cellular biology-related technology platforms. Your activities may include viral transfection work & therefore may partly be performed in a BSL2+ laboratory.

The qualified scientist needs to independently plan and execute experiments, to follow protocols, to document data in detailed lab reports (ELN system) according to departmental standards, to troubleshoot problems, and to

interpret data and communicate results.

 B. Sc. or M.Sc. in Biological Sciences or equivalent industry experience

 Experience in cell culture work, assay development and high content imaging is a must.

 Experience and interest in the scientific and technical aspects of cell biology and molecular biology is a plus.

 Meticulous attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.

 Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines

 Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills to maintain communication across functional groups and requestors (Dutch & English).

 Flexible mindset and ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities

 You are willing and capable of working independently and on several projects at the same time with a problem-solving attitude.

 You can operate in a team setting within a multicultural environment and interact with people at all levels within the organization.
