Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated candidate in the area of Control Systems Engineer to support the development of drivetrain controls for its Electrification and Mechatronics competency group. This work involves developing controls for vehicle systems and components used in torque management products (all- wheel drive systems, disconnects, ELSDs,...), electric drive products (electric drive units, hybrid transmissions) and transmissions to expand Dana's commitment to products that improve vehicle safety, performance and fuel economy. As control systems engineer, you have the following responsibilities:
- Create, develop and validate controls for mechatronic products covering the stages of concept through to production. - Participate in the creation of new mechatronic products to provide competitive solutions for future driveline opportunities. - Create plant models for the development and optimization of control algorithms. - Design controls solutions using model-based programming. - To meet targets for deliverables including timing of virtual, laboratory, and vehicle demonstrations of system performance. - Collaborate and negotiate with customer regarding control system requirements, interfaces, and product development progress. - Follow Program Management and Stage Gate development processes to meet project goals.
- You have a master science degree in Electromechanical, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, specialization in control theory or mechatronics preferred. - A minimum of 3 years of experience in the development of control algorithms for vehicle drivetrain products is required. - You have 3 years of experience using Simulink model based software. - You have awareness of ISO26262 / Functional Safety and awareness of requirements management tools such as Doors, Polarion, VSEM, or Enterprise Architect; working knowledge with application experience is preferred. - Previous experience in DSpace and RapidPro hardware and software is an asset. - You have strong organization, problem solving and communication skills. - You are able to travel internationally (10-15% typical). - You are fluent in English. - You must be able to work in an international, diverse team.
