Dissolution Sciences is part of the Global Analytical Development organization within the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Development & Supply Division (CPDS). We develop dissolution and in vitro release methods for immediate, modified and targeted release formulations for oral, parenteral and other routes of administration. We investigate, characterize and predict in vitro release rates in standard and biorelevant dissolution media. We validate and transfer dissolution methods and we investigate aberrant dissolution profiles to improve our methods and drugs.

key responsibilities
- As a dissolution scientist, you will apply the latest science in dissolution testing to help bring new drugs to patients worldwide.
- You will design, plan, track and supervise dissolution work to help develop the best possible dosage form for patients.
- You actively participate in the biopharmaceutical evaluation strategy to predict in vivo exposure, in the improvement of biorelevant methods and in the development of clinically relevant QC methods and specifications.
- You contribute to the automation strategy within the team.
- You will contribute to further mechanistic understanding of in vitro dissolution.
- You will contribute to the advancement of data modeling and analysis approaches.
- You will participate in technical and strategic meetings with colleagues in Beerse or at various sites around the world and represent the Dissolution Sciences team in a cross-functional matrix environment including formulation development, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology, quality assurance and regulatory affairs.
- You will also be responsible for writing and reviewing technical and scientific papers.
qualifications
- PhD
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences relevant to small molecule formulation development, analytical chemistry, compliance and GMP.
- Experience with dissolution testing (QC and/or biorelevant) and dissolution method development is a plus.
- Experience with statistical or data modeling / DoE / MVA is a plus.
- Experience with laboratory automation is a plus.
- Quick learner with scientific curiosity, self-directed, proactive, creative.
- Open-minded, with the ability to work together as one team in a global environment.
- Good presentation skills during scientific meetings.
- Good written and oral communication in English.
