As the brand of our client continues to expand, you will be responsible to provide support and services to shore based offices for the full Group which consists of multiple offices that are truly global in nature.
The IT infrastructure team is responsible for managing shore based ICT infrastructure such as servers, applications, databases, networking equipment, firewalls, laptops and telecom systems. As a member of the team you will monitor, support, improve and work out preventive solutions to minimize the impact on the organization.

You will work in Antwerp (Kaai), the headquarters where they decide what's going on with the international infrastructure & systems of this maritime company and the largest crude oil tanker company in the world.
• You will analyse/investigate and propose new system enhancements to your manager which further improve performance, stability, security and scalability. • Administer, monitor and improve shore based IT infrastructure. • Respond to requests for support, follow up incidents and provide solutions to users in shore based offices. • Attend to IT security and backup issues; to maintain utmost confidentiality of data at all times. • Participate in and/or lead IT projects. • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. • Oversee the administration and documentation of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in applications. • Adhere to IT procedures based on SOx regulations. • Liaise with third party software vendors on support and development issues. • Perform scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs to office IT infrastructure. • Asses, plan and coordinate installation and updates of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network. • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, backup and other application servers, with their associated operating systems and software. • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, UPSs, and so on. • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems. • Occasional travel to other offices may be required (UK, France, Greece).
Formal education: Bachelor level – a degree in IT or related field.
Experience: • You should have extensive experience working in an IT environment with a solid knowledge of technical infrastructure environments. We expect min. 3-5 years of experience and specialization in IT networks and IT Technical Infrastructure; • Maritime industry experience and knowledge of asp.net and/or Umbraco CMS are considered a plus.
Other qualifications: ITIL and/or IT technical certifications are considered a plus.
Languages: Fluent in English, other European languages are an asset.
