Your duties:

As Import Manager Business Developer, your role is to manage the import flow, at the entrance of the Liege airport. To do this, you manage two logistics teams (of 4 and 5 people) that ensure an efficient connection with the ground handlers/transporters.

In this function, your day will be made up of continuous improvement projects (product traceability, offer management,...), contacts with many people, team management, etc. The main idea is to push up the import pole, to develop the business internally and to test the proposed solutions in the field.

In concrete terms, you are the point of contact between CAL's sales and logistics department and the ground handling agent for operational activities. You juggle on two levels: operational and commercial.  

1/ Commercial

  • Towards your customers, you develop new logistics solutions that bring added value; 
  • You develop local service and standards to streamline freight procedures to support commodities and specialized products;
  • You promote operational excellence with suppliers and trucking companies by managing price negotiations on the one hand and key performance indicators and service levels on the other.

2/ Operational

  • You oversee freight operations to ensure that inbound deliveries to CAL customers (regular and ad-hoc) are on time; 
  • You manage and develop logistics personnel using your leadership and management skills; 
  • You are responsible for maintaining and updating local standard operating procedures;
  • Other tasks, such as performing vertical activities, troubleshooting and solving operational problems, are part of your daily routine. 

your contribution

  • You have a degree in management engineering, a master's degree in economics, foreign trade, logistics or transport;
  • You have a first experience in the logistics and air freight sector; 
  • You have proven experience in people management; 
  • You speak French and English without difficulty; 
  • You are stress-resistant, autonomous, determined and self-confident; 
  • You don't hesitate to take initiatives that are innovative; 
  • Having the DGR certification is an asset for your application;
