Public holidays
A temporary worker is entitled to all the statutory public holidays (or days off in lieu of these public holidays) that fall within the period of the employment contract.
If after the completion of the employment contract with Randstad the employee has not yet found work elsewhere, in certain cases he or she is also entitled to payment for certain public holidays if they fall within 14 or 30 days of the end of the employment contract, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Taking holiday during the assignment
During a temporary assignment, it is not always possible to take holiday. This is because it is precisely at this time that there is pressure on staffing because extra work has come in or permanent staff members need to be replaced. If the Randstad consultant is informed of any holiday plans in time, these can be taken into account when compiling the work schedule.
Leave of absence
In certain circumstances (such as a wedding, a birth, the death of a family member or jury service), a temporary worker has the same entitlement as any other employee to leave of absence from work. Such absences may not entail any loss of pay. The temporary worker must inform the Randstad consultant in time and provide the necessary supporting documents.
